Purposes Designed to measure originality based on personality study rather upon task performance. A later study involving over 1,200 men and women r=.77 for males and .75 for female college freshmen. Stability was .71 and .77 with 383 freshman over 9 months. Utility Fair The subject answers true/false on 38 items. The measure can be self-scoring. Interpretation Fair A scoring key is in the article. The higher the score the higher the subject is positioned on the scale of originality. Norms were based on scores of a “large sample of National Merit Finalists.” While scales are presented as to various dispositions in relation to score, little consideration is given to guide the application of those scores.
